32 weeks/Bend Sub-I

Unbelievably upset that this post was deleted sometime after I posted it weeks ago (same day I posted the 30wk shot). JD was able to read it, but then minutes later when I was surfing the internet he tells me it disappeared! (I was on the phone with him at the time.) Anyway, I will try to recreate it since I wanted to keep a working diary of my adventures through this pregnancy. I know it won't be what it was since it has been several weeks, but here's a go at it...
It is just about the 2 week point in my rotation here in Bend, and I must say, I am loving it! I can't explain it entirely, but the physicians here are truly happy, family oriented, and fabulous teachers. Just in my first week I have learned tons of "on-the-go" pearls of wisdom that I should have known sooner. I definitely have to keep up on my reading, but at least it's fun and worthwhile! I finally get to know and manage my patients from very beginning to very end, which makes me 'own' their care. Ah, now this is practicing medicine!

Bend is definitely my kind of town. It is a place for the active young and old, whether you are into hiking, biking, running, kayaking, or mountain sports. The physicians I am working with are all young mothers who work hard and play hard, which doesn't seem like such a difficult task in such a beautiful location. I will have to get some tips from them since my hours are the same as theirs - hospital work 6am - 6 or 7pm x 6 days/week (actually I have 2 days of clinic mixed in, but the hours are the same because I go to the hospital to round on my patients first).

I am soaking up the wonders of living with my Mother-in-law too. Great meals (I think it's her goal to make me chubbier), good company, beautiful home, and a nice comfy bed. I'm trying to get some exercise in too, which has worked out to be walking/talking with the MIL. Surprisingly, I am able to study really well in a designated 'office' not far from the friendly voices in the living room. Oh, I can't wait to have a place like this someday!

Looking a little frumpy in my scrubs and socks outside. Today I really felt like a small scrub top is a tad too tight now, but have to wait until I get back to OHSU to exchange sizes. At least I can wear the compression socks without compromising style points. Most of my comfy preggo pants are capris, which is nice for summer, an overheating pregnant lady, and wearing cute flats. Gotta look at the bright side, right? Actually, the most common comment this week: "Wow, your belly is really growing!" Uh, and this is from people that I met only 1 week ago!! Is that supposed to be a compliment? Yes, I feel huge and notice my clothing becoming more and more snug, good thing I now know I look it too, haha.

Hanging out at the Old Mill area in Bend, OR. It was such a beautiful day, JD and I even went swimming in the cold river! Watch out for the white and black whale floating on an inner tube (my preggo suit is black in case you were wondering)!

Super happy that I actually did get to see my JD and relax for a day. Working 6 days a week hasn't been too bad, but that one day off is always a much needed relax and catch up day!
Ok, can't remember what else I had written. There were a few pieces of saved text to spur my memory, but I don't remember much more than that. Too bad I can't remember what was 'funny' about the first time I posted this that made JD like it so much. Ugh. Stupid computer/internet glitches!!
